Why we started Horizon K Voyage and what we refuse to compromise on

Built on the belief that travel should leave both the traveler and the destination better off

Small groups, always We cap every expedition at twelve travelers. That number keeps us welcome in village homestays, quiet on wildlife trails, and flexible when weather shifts a route. It also means your guide actually learns your pace by day two.
Local hands, local decisions Every itinerary is co-designed with the people who live along the route. They choose the homestays, the meal providers, the boat captains, and the trail partners. We handle permits, transport, and gear lists so the community benefits directly from each visit.
Honest difficulty ratings We rate each departure by daily walking hours, elevation gain, and terrain type, not by vague adjectives. If a coastal trek includes a 600-meter climb on loose scree, the itinerary says so before you book. You should never discover the hard part on day three.
Wildlife on their terms Responsible viewing means staying at regulated distances, using local naturalist guides, and never baiting or chasing. Our Azores and island routes are built around observation windows that respect breeding seasons and feeding grounds.
Seasonal honesty We publish departures only when conditions actually suit the route. Monsoon weeks, nesting periods, and ferry schedules are factored into the calendar. If a window closes, we cancel that departure rather than run a compromised version of it.

The people behind the routes

Our team is small by design. Each expedition is led by someone who has walked the route, met the hosts, and knows where the trail gets rough. We work with local guides, homestay families, and marine biologists who live in the regions we visit.

Obaid spent eleven years guiding treks across the Western Ghats before founding Horizon K Voyage. He has personally scouted every coastal route in our catalog, from the Amalfi cliffs to the Azores calderas. His rule is simple: no itinerary is sold until he has walked it end to end.

Operations, Permits & Logistics

Mohan Ram Mukhopadhyay

Mohan handles the unglamorous side of travel: park permits, ferry schedules, homestay confirmations, and gear checklists. He has coordinated over 200 small-group departures and knows which paperwork slows a trip down. His spreadsheets are the reason our departures run on time.

Cultural Program Curator

Maya Zeeshan Hari

Maya builds the cultural layer of each journey. She works directly with homestay families, weavers, shepherds, and storytellers to shape the exchanges travelers experience. Her background in oral history means every meal and workshop has a story behind it, not just a schedule slot.

Wildlife & Conservation Advisor

Jayshree Raj

Jayshree is a marine biologist who joined us after a decade with a whale research program in the Indian Ocean. She trains our guides in responsible observation protocols and reviews every wildlife encounter in our itineraries. If a route risks disturbing an animal, she cuts it.

Guest Relations & Trip Preparation

Bijoy Bhai Kaur

Bijoy is the first voice travelers hear after booking. He runs pre-departure briefings, sends gear checklists, and answers the questions that come up at 11pm before a flight. He has helped more than 1,500 travelers pack for highland rain and coastal sun, often in the same week.
